Why “Beta”.
In climbing, “beta” refers to an intentional sequence of movements that allows a climber to ascend a route or boulder. It’s a very creative + thoughtful process unique to each individual, and often relies on amplifying one’s personal strengths. The process of finding “beta” for any particular route or boulder is highly rewarding - making a climb that once felt impossible, feel effortless. This process builds a certain type of resilience; one that has become a philosophy that I carry with me across many aspects of my life.
My hope is that through coaching + programs offered, I might help you build newfound growth, resilience…and find your own beta.
Who is Beta Strength + Coaching
Hi, I’m Michelle! My passion for movement started at a young age - as an explorer of the great outdoors on camping trips with my family, and playing soccer + ringette/hockey in the Maritimes. In 2008, I fell in love with rock climbing and a whole new world opened up to me. My values towards personal health deepened during my Kinesiology Degree and in many ways, it was refined during my Master’s Degree in Gerontology.
